	Y Knot Alpacas is a family-operated farm nestled beneath the Blue Ridge Mountain in northwestern Lehigh County, approximately 20 miles north of Allentown, Pa. We are close to major highways with easy access to the farm.

In May of 1998, after visiting some farms, and attending a few of the early Mapaca shows that were held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, we decided to start an alpaca venture of our own. Since starting with 2 pet males and 2 females, the herd of huacaya and suri have continued to grow.

Our herd is small, and cared for entirely by family members. The alpacas we raise are friendly and easily handled. We are involved in every aspect of their care, and we wish to remain a small farm for this reason. Our goal is to breed colorful alpacas with good temperaments, sound conformation, and exceptional fleece characteristics.

Not only do we offer alpacas for sale, but fiber and fiber products as well. We are members of two fiber cooperatives that collect fleece each year and then process the fleece into beautiful end products. A small percentage of our fleece is sent to a local mill to be spun into yarn, and some raw fiber is sold to hand spinners.

Not that long ago we were also just starting out learning about alpacas and had numerous questions about all aspects of alpaca ownership. We invite you to visit our farm and see our alpacas "up close and personal". Allow us to share our knowledge, experiences, and love of these animals with you.
